Is there a packet brand of Oatmeal that anyone knows about?

Randy writes,  May 31, 2010

I am just starting this so I am hoping "Sandee" or anyone can give me some guidance.  I do have the book, but meals may be the hardest thing for me to fix.  Appreciate this site.

Any plain plain oatmeal works.  You can get the 1 minute if that's easier....but the old fashioned only takes about 5 minutes and is better for you.  Oat bran is quick to cook too.  I do it on the stove because I don't want to use the microwave unless I absolutely need to.  Just boil 1 cup of water, add 1/4 C oat bran, turn heat to low until it thickens...about 3 or 4 minutes...then add some 0 cal sweetener, cinnamon, fruit....good stuff!

i do my own cook-on-the-stove kind and add flax, oat bran, whatever other grain i might have...then i sprinkle it with a little milk, some chopped walnuts or slivered almonds, cut up dried apricots, golden raisins, or fresh berries. holds me all morning.
